These Native (To Alberta) Wildflower seeds have been source-identified and hand collected in Southern Alberta by Wild About Flowers.
Veiny Meadowrue is a graceful, airy perennial with finely divided, lacy foliage and tall, slender stems. Blooming in early to mid-summer, it produces clusters of soft, creamy-white flowers on separate male and female plants. The male flowers are showier, with dangling stamens that create a delicate, wispy effect, while the female flowers are more subtle but essential for seed production. Seeds may be eaten by small birds or rodents, though the plant is not a significant food source. With its feathery texture and elegant blooms, Veiny Meadowrue adds light, ethereal charm to sunny gardens and rural landscapes.
Veiny Meadowrue is best suited to moist prairies, naturalized meadows, streambanks, and low-lying areas, where its delicate foliage brings texture and movement. It works well in restoration projects, wetland edges, or larger gardens designed to mimic native prairie or meadow conditions. Moderately deer-resistant due to its fine, bitter foliage, though browsing may occur, especially on young shoots.
